Stepping up to support awareness and research into Cerebral Palsy

As a father of a daughter with Worster-Drought syndrome, a rare and lesser known form of Cerebral Palsy, fundraising for CP research and support means a lot to me.

Our own journey of living with a family member with Cerebral Palsy has fortunately been made easier through the amazing staff at PCH and other medical professionals who have supported us for the last 7 years. Through support programs and a team of therapists and medical specialists , we've been able to get the help she needs to have a happy and healthy life.

However, there is still so much more support and research needed for Cerebral Palsy, so this month I am stepping up for Steptember so that people like my daughter can get the support and research to foster a full life. My goal is to reach 500,000 steps this month and get $1,000 in donations.

THANK YOU everybody that has donated in the last 24 hours. We've already smashed our goal of $1,000 raised for Cerebral Palsy research and support!

Your generous contributions have exceeded all my expectations of getting close to my goal let alone on day 1 of setting the goal. 

Thank you, thank you, thank you to my colleagues, friends and family who have opened your hearts and wallets to suppose this great cause. 

Whilst I've hit my donation goal, I've still got a long way to go to hit 500k steps. So far, I'm tracking ahead of schedule but your donations are spurring me along. 

Why STEPtember is important to me

Every 20 hours, an Australian child is diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

I'm STEPing up this September to fundraise to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance in their mission to help people with cerebral palsy live their best lives.

STEPtember participants are passionate about being healthy, building a more inclusive world and making a life-changing impact for people with cerebral palsy.
